Pinspiration Card - Dad's Birthday Card

I am trying to get ahead on the cards that I need in the next little while and my dad's birthday is next.  So, it was my mission to make him a fun, yet manly card.  I am very inspired by Tim Holtz and people who create like him, however, I have a really hard time mimicking that look.  I also have spent some time on Pinterest and came across the inspiration for this card from this blog.  You can find all of the directions for the card there.  Directions for centimeters is here.

Christmas Twisted Greeting Card

It's been awhile since I last made a card, yikes!  And everywhere I look these days people are starting to focus on making Christmas and Holiday cards.  I also wanted to make one last Twisted Greeting card for the challenge over at ScorPalPals before it was over.  So, I came up with this card.  I love the Stampin' Up In Colours for this year.  I can't decide which my favorite, but Midnight Muse is most definitely a front runner.

Supplies: All Stampin' Up: Paper: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Shimery White, DSP (Bride); Embossing Powder: Pewter; Punches: 3/4 Circle, Modern Label, Word Window; Marker: Midnight Muse; Stamps: Heard from the Heart, Sweet Shapes, Ornamental Keepsakes, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Framelits: Holiday Ornaments; Misc: Rhinestones, Trim Tinsel Clear; Other: Scor-Pal

Elsa at Easter

I am still on my quest to get Elsa's scrapbook done.  It is slow going, but I've done more this month than I have all year.  I usually have a hard time using chipboard, but this chipboard matches the paper and was easy to work with.  This was also my first time using the Cricut Craft Room.  I can't wait to get to know this program a little bit better.

Supplies: Paper: Bazzill & Making Memories (Garden Party); Cricut: Designer's Calendar & Cricut Craft Room Basics; Liquid Pearls: White Opal; Stamps: CTMH (Save the Date); Ink: TH (Walnut Stain); Ribbon: MS, Celebrate It; Punch: SU (Round Tab) & Fiskars (Threading Water Scallop); Pearls: Recollections & Kaiser)

Elsa - First Food

When I originally started planning this layout I had picked totally different paper.  I had chosen some paper that was dark blue that was in a similar check pattern to the high chair.  However, as I stared at the paper, I was totally uninspired.  So, I put that paper to the side and just started flipping through the paper that I have and ended up with this paper from DCWV Nana's Kitchen Stack.  In the end I am pleased with how this turned out.

To make the bibs I used the Scallop Circle Nestabilities and then used the Oval punch to punch out the neck.

Supplies: Paper: Bazzill & DCWV (Nana's Kitchen Stack); Nestabilities: Classic Scallop Circles Large; Punch: MS (Swirling Lace) & SU (Scallop Oval, Oval); Cricut: Designer's Calendar, A Child's Year; Ink: TH (Spun Sugar & Tumbled Glass); Markers: SU (Baja Breeze & Regal Rose); Ribbon: Offray; Edgelits: SU (Adorning Accents); Misc: Brads, Crystal Effects

Scrapbook Retreat - Layout #4

I love this picture of Chloe.  I have never worked with a photo this big, and I really like it.  One of the lady's at the retreat showed me how to sew right on the picture.  It's pretty easy.  I guess I'll be trying that technique again.

Supplies: Paper: Bazzill & Basic Gray (Marjolaine); Rhinestones: Recollection; Cricut: Elegant Cakes; Ink: TH (Weathered Wood, Antique Linen, Faded Jean & Peeled Paint);

Scrapbook Retreat - Layout #3

I decided that at this year's retreat I scrapbook a page for Alex and Chloe.  Last year they were so disappointed that I hadn't done a page for them.  I also want to try to move outside my technique comfort zone, this layout is a tiny bit out of the zone.

Supplies: Paper: Bazzill & Prima (Just Corina); Ink: TH (Black Soot, Vintage Photo); Punch: SU (Star, 1 1/4 Square); Die: Big Alphabet Simple Letters; Brads: Recollections; Stamps: SU (Fabulous Phrases)

Scrapbooking Retreat - Layout #2

Here is my second layout of the retreat.  It would seem that I didn't get a really good picture of this, whoops.

Supplies: Paper: Bazzill & DCWV (The Butterfly Stack); Cricut: Elegant Cakes; Flowers: Prima; Butterfly: Prima; Rhinestones: Hero Arts; Ink: TH (Pickled Raspberry); Punch: MS (Swirling Lace)

Scrapbooking Retreat - Layout #1

I have been looking forward to this scrapbooking retreat for a whole year now.  Really, since last year when it ended I was ready to be going back.  It wasn't very hard to get ready for this year's retreat because I never unpacked my pre-planned pages from the year before.  It is my goal to get Elsa's baby book finished one of these days soon.  We arrived late on the Friday night and I got started on this page, but wasn't able to finish as I was too tired.  So, it got finished first thing Saturday.

Supplies: Paper: Bazzill, Heidi Grace Designs (Baby Girl) & SU (Soft Suede, Rose Red, Celery); Cricut: Opposite Attract & Doodlecharms; Stamps: CTMH (Tiny Typewritter Alphabet); Ink: SU (Rose Red); Die Cut: SU (??Border??); Embossing Folder: Sizzix (Hearts #4); Rhinestones: Kaiser & Recollections; Ribbon: Unknown; Misc: Ranger: Glossy Accents

Sympathy Card

My mom and dad are headed to a funeral this week and they asked me for a sympathy card.  I haven't had to make very many of these and I wanted to keep it simple.  I think these two Stampin' Up colors go so well together.  I also think that this is a really nice sympathy stamp set.

Supplies: All Stampin' Up - Paper: Basic Gray & Baja Breeze; Ink: Basic Gray & Baja Breeze; Stamp: Thanks for Caring; Framelits: Labels Collection; Embossing Folder: Vintage Wallpaper; Misc: Dazzling Details
