Christmas All Year Long - November

WOW...it's one month until Christmas!!!  The only thing that I've done to prepare for the holiday season is start to make a few cards.  Thank goodness I've been playing along with the Christmas All Year Long Blog hop over the last few months, that gave me a great start to my card making.

I'd like to quickly thank Julie, for taking the time every month to organize this. And a thank you to Diana for enabling me to purchase these super cute images!!! You can get them in her store.

If you'd like to start at the beginning of this blog hop head on over to Christmas All Year Long Blog.  If you've come from Peggie's, you are on the right track.  From here you'll head over to Tanya's.

Sorry for the poor quality pictures...my camera is on the fritz...ugh!

The Outlawz Freebie Challenge

Over at The Outlawz they have some super talented people.  A couple of the ladies are sharing their creative talent by creating digi images.  The challenge they have going is to use their images in order to earn the next set of digi images.  So much fun!!!  Here is what I did with one of the images.
The turorial for this Side Spring Card is Here.

Supplies: Paper: SU (Old Olive) & DCWV; Stamp: SU (Petite Pairs); Punch: SU (Decorative Label); Ribbon: Offray; Ink: TH (Peeled Paint & Antique Linen); Fun Flock: Stampendous (Chili Pepper Red); Stickles: Golden Rod); Cuttlebug: Seeing Spots; Digi Stamp: S. Hugget; Misc: Scor-Pal,

The Outlawz Sunday CAS

This week for The Outlawz Sunday CAS challenge we had to make a card that used our favorite patterned paper.  I'm sure most people are like me and can't pick a dozen favorite patterned papers, let alone one favorite.  Then I tried to decide which was my favorite paper company, but I like so many.  So, I decided that I would just make a card using up some scraps from a recent project...and I really liked that paper.

Supplies: Paper: Bazzill & DCWV; Stamps: SU (Christmas Greeting) & Recollections; Nestabilities: Standard Circle Small; Embossing Powder: SU (Pewter); Glitter: MS (Crystal); Ink: TH (Seedless Peserve); Ribbon: Celebrate It (Holiday); Fun Flock: Stampendous (Cotton Ball White); Stickles: Yellow & Star Dust; Embossing Folder: Sizzix (Dots, Circles & Starts); Punch: MS (Stars)

Toonie Thursday

Today I went by my LSS (Scrapbooker's Paradise) in hopes for picking up the Tim Holtz Winter ink collection.  I was super excited to see they had restocked their supply.  While I was there I took the Toonie Thursday make and take.  The instructor (Viola) always has such neat things to make and try.  I will definitely trying to do this one on my own.  I know she used the Sizzix Snowflake die, but I'm wondering if I can cut something on my Cricut.

Dad's Birthday Card

This week over at The Outlawz the Monday Greeting Card Challenge couldn't have come at a better time.  The topic this week is to make a male card.  Well, it just happens to be my dad's birthday next week.  I also wanted to try making a Four Flap Fold card for the challenge over at ScorPalPals.  I had posted some directions for their challenge that I hadn't tried and wanted to see how they worked.  In the end I did modify the card a bit to suit me better.

Here is the link to the video tutorial for this type of Four Flap Fold.

Toonie Thursday

I just love this card that we made at Toonie Thursday this week at Scrapbooker's Paradise.  And the best part was how easy it was to make.  The Mica flakes are quite messy but they are stunning!!!

The Outlawz Sunday CAS

Awhile back I joined a crafting community called The Outlawz.  This group has a bunch of daily challenges.  I have been wanting to play along in some of their challenges.  So, finally today I decided to try the Sunday CAS Challenge.  I would say this is my first official CAS challenge and it was challenging.  I had a hard time staying simple.  But I sure like how quick these types of cards could be.

The CAS challenge for this week is to Emboss.  It could be cuttlebug or heat or whatever type of embossing you chose.  I decided to go with cuttlebug and powder embossing (although you can't see the heat embossing in the picture).

I wanted to make this an all white card, but I just couldn't.  I had to put a bit of colour in it.  My other frustration is that my good camera got dropped on the weekend and now it doesn't work.  So sorry for the not great quality.
I put Martha Stewart Microbeads on the snowflake.
Supplies: Paper: Bazzill & Bazzill Bling; Chipboard: Bazzill; Microbeads: MS; Ribbon: Celebrate It (Holiday); Embossing Powder: Ranger (Holographic); Ink: TH (Stormy Sky); Cuttlebug: Snowflakes; Misc: Paint

I have met some wonderful ladies online thru the scrapbooking world.  And this group of ladies often does a swap.  So, for this swap we had to make a Holiday Tag.  I’ve know about this swap, but I always seem to leave it to the last minute.  Then my idea kind of got a bit out of control.  I am so incredibly pleased with the end result of my tag…I just wish I knew how to take a good picture of it.  As you can see I had trouble with my lightening…oh well!!!
